Ventra Locomotives have been set up in the year 1975 and are popularly known as ventra. Works of ventra are located at Plot No 23 -B, IDA, Patancheru, Medak Dist., A.P in an area of about 8000 Sq .Mtrs.
Ventra have a full fledged design office with computerised work stations to produce designs fully complying to the customers requirements. The design staff are guided by two consultants who have long experience with research designs and standards organisation ( RDSO ) of Indian Railways.
Range of products
The range of ventra products include diesel hydraulic, diesel mechanical, battery locomotives as well as self propelled vechicles, inspection cars, track maintanance vechicles, mine cars and other allied rail equipment. Diesel hydraulic locomotives cover flameproof locomotives also. the product range covers from 25 HP to 1500 HP of any rail gauge and upto 140t weight, which can be adapted to the needs of any industry.
Ventra built locomotives are custom built to the specific requirements to the customers.
First In The Country
So far ventra have achieved the following FIRST in the country.
- To build first battery locomotive.
- To build first 3 axle 450 HP MG locomotive in the private sector.
- To develop and supply locomotives with hydrostatic transmissions.
- To supply power packs to indian railways for OHE cars.
- To build flameproof locomotives to international OCMA - MEC - 1 specifications.
- To develop and supply the biggest battery locomotives of 20t. 75 KW
- To supply 335 HP 3 axle locomotives for NG application ( 610 mm )
- To develop and supply the diesel hydraulic shunting locomotives wioth radio remote control systems.
- To develop and supply battery locomotive with latest state of the art technology with microprocessor based IGBT controls.
- To develop and supply electrodynamic brake vans for use with battery locomotives, permitiing operation on steep gradients.

Ventra locomotives depute expert engineers to site to commision locomotives and other rolling stock and to prove operational capability with specified loads. They also impart training to the customers personnel in operation and maintenance.

A wide network of strategically located offices ensures timely assistance to customers. Adequate buffer stocks of critical components, indigenous and imported are maintained for the conveinence of the customers. A team of experienced service engineers available always, so that any service call can be attended immediately.

Surface protection
