Selected on the basis of a competitive examination as gazetted officer by the Karnataka Public service commission. Studied law, constitution of India, Accountancy and book-keeping and other related subjects. Specialized in indirect taxes especially in Sales Ta, Entry Tax, Professional Tax, Entertainment Tax, Agricultural income tax etc. Attended various training programmes in management as well as tax administration including value added tax.
