| Late Shri Vasantrao Manorkar founded Prakash Departmental Stores Pvt. Ltd. in 1945. With his dedication and hard work he developed the store into a massive Shoppe chain. It was Shri Vasantrao's persistence that enabled him to come such a long way. Under his direction, Sapphire was established at M.G. Road, Camp in the year 1986.
A separate department dealing exclusively in Woolen Garments is the specialty of Prakash Departmental Stores, all year round. Right from thermal wear for those going to cold regions to warm sweaters from Monte Carlo, Pringle, Park Avenue, Casablanca... and many more!
In the year 2001, Prakash Departmental Stores was fully renovated and turned into a family Shoppe under one roof. The ground floor deals in Gents Ready-mades, the first floor is for the Kids and the second floor for Ladies. We have also started a separate section for New Born Babies.
